| This is a long story that is pertinent to Ballot Measure S requesting ambulance tax renewal on November 6th. Its the history of the ambulance prior to our first approved tax measure in 1998. My first hand information begins in 1978 when my husband and I bought our property in Unit 12 and became aware of the existence of the local ambulance, first operated by Boise Cascade and later by a local group known as Southside Emergence Medical Services (SEMSA). SEMSA members paid $35.00 a year and that amount, paid by most property owners, plus the fees charged for services was enought to cover costs. When Rod and I moved to PML full time in l982 I was asked to become a member of the Board of Semsa. The ambulance at that time was run by two full time (5 day week, 8 hour days) employees, a former RN and one EMT, both paid minimum wage. | I am in agreement with Lillian Carson concerning the survey. I happened to find it by accident when I was looking up phone numbers in the Pine Mountain Lake website. I am an "off the hiller" and was happy to fill out the survey. I agree there should be hard-copy surveys for those that do not have computer access. Maybe there could be some available at various places around the community to ensure that all voices are heard. If we are a community, then everybody in the community should have a say!
